After the launch of their 2016 Flagship Killer, the Oneplus Two, Chinese OEM manufacturer, Oneplus is planning to launch a budget version of their smartphone, currently nicknamed the Oneplus X or Oneplus Mini.

Expected to release by December 2015, this new smartphone will most probably have a dual camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, if renders are to be believed.

In a previous interview to USA Today, the company’s co-founder, Carl Pei, had hinted at another device launch in the same year. This just might be one he was talking about. The pricing is expected to be around $249 but there is little confirmation on that.

Observing the front of the device, obtained from the renders, it seems pretty close to the design language that Oneplus has used on their previous two smartphones. On the rear, although, it is a different ball game altogether. The design seems unique and seems to be a bold experiment from the company.

While we shall wait for official confirmation on this news, Oneplus is definitely coming up with a budget smartphone this year and this will be our biggest bet. Stay tuned for more on this.
